Hebrews 12: Run

Image
The author of Hebrews has spent the entire letter reminding the readers of God's faithfulness for generation after generation, and in Hebrews 12, we see the metaphor of a crowd gathering to watch the current generation run, and finish, their race. Since everything written before is true, we fix our eyes on the author of that truth (Jesus), and run the race set before us, we shed the weight of sin because of God's grace, and we trust in him to guide us and keep us until we reach the completion. Hebrews 10: Belong

Image
Have you ever been in a place that you felt like you belonged? Have you ever been in a place where you felt like you didn't belong? What if you could walk with confidence into the presence of God, and not just feel like you belonged, but know that you belonged? Hebrews has been a wonderful repetition of how to belong in the presence of God and how to walk with God, and this week we took a look at the application of what the author of Hebrews was writing about in the life of Jesus during an encounter in Mark 10. Salvation is a gift that is received, not something that we earn, and the reality is that God makes it possible, provides that gift for us, and sustains it with us and through us. Easter Service (4-4-21)

His sheep hear his voice and they follow where he leads, and he knows their names. This is the beautiful relationship between Creator and creation and savior and those who he has come to save. All it took was Jesus speaking the name of Mary for Mary to know her friend and savior had risen. Her sorrow turned to joy in an instant, and she knew that Jesus was alive. If you want to follow along with the text for this message, we were in John 20 .
